Notley Dutton Sr., Will, September 8, 1802; October 22, 1802
I, Notley Dutton Sr. of CC, presently in a weak and sickly state of health, but of perfectly sound and disposing mind memory and understanding;
To grandsons, Matthew Dutton and Notley Dutton, and assigns as tenants in common and not as joint tenants, all my real estate.
To grandson Matthew Dutton, negro John Ingraham until the age of 31yrs, who then shall be a free man. Also one cow and calf.
To grandson Notley Dutton, negro Benjamin Hanson until the age of 31yrs, who then shall be a free man. Also one cow and calf.
To executors, use of female negroes Charity, Sabarah, Suckey (d/o Charity), Sally, and male negroes Allen Bruce (until 31yrs), Charles (until 31yrs), David (until 31yrs), 2 cows and calves, 6 sheep, and one bed and furniture in special trust, the profits arising used for the support of my daughter Mary Posey during her life and after her death, negroes to my granddaughter Elizabeth M.C. Posey (her daughter). Above male negroes to be freed when they arrive at 31yrs old.
To granddaughter Jane Money, the use of negroes John Briscoe (until 31yrs), Stephen (until 31yrs), (until 31yrs), and female negroes Lettice, Juder and Constantania, 2 cows and calves, 6 head of shep, a mare, saddle and bridle. Above male negroes to be freed when they arrive at 31yrs old.
To granddaughter Margaret Dutton Nettle, negroes Sylvia and Poll, 1 cow and calf, and the use of negro Washington (until 31yrs) and then freed.
To granddaughter Alice Nettle, negroes Priscilla and Anna, 1 cow and calf, and the use of a negro Orson (until 31yrs) and then freed.
To grandson, John Dutton, negro Hannah, negro Suckey Ingram, 1 cow and calf, and the use of a negro Robbin Ingraham (until 31yrs) and then freed.
To granddaughter Elizabeth Dutton, negroes Betsy Ingraham, Eliza and Jane, 1 cow and calf.
To granddaughter Matilda Dutton, negroes Sarah and Eleanor, 1 cow and calf and the use of a negro Harry (until 31yrs) and then freed.
To children of deceased son Notley Dutton, negro man Jack.
Item: balance to estate to be distributed as follows; Jane Money 1/4th, John Dutton, Elizabeth Dutton and Matilda Dutton 1/4th, Elizabeth M.C. Posey 1/4th, and Margaret Dutton Nettle and Alice Nettle 1/4th.
